How we fix osmosis

Osmosis — sometimes called fibreglass blistering — happens when water passes through the gelcoat and forms bubbles beneath the surface. We stop the cycle properly, not just cover it up.

  • Drain and fully dry the shell to expose blister damage
  • Grind out blisters and damaged gelcoat
  • Apply a protective epoxy barrier coat
  • Re-gelcoat and colour-match the finish
  • Cure, polish, and refill with care instructions

Why osmosis needs attention

Left untreated, osmotic blisters can spread across the pool surface, weaken the gelcoat, and lead to leaks or costly resurfacing. Early repair saves the shell and restores the finish.

  • Early blistering is cheaper to repair than widespread delamination
  • A proper barrier coat stops the cycle returning
  • Factory-matched finishes keep your pool looking new
